The second piece in the Whitewater Suite is about climbing up a mountain, which I actually did (in the winter when there was no pollen!) with my now husband. I remember the huge boulders at the top and how a group of young women climbing up past me as I sat on the penultimate boulder before the top ignited my competitive spirit enough to propel me to overcome my acrophobia and make it to the pinnacle! The majesty and glorious feeling at the top was indescribable (I was holding on to my husband the entire time…). I hope you will feel a bit of what I felt when you listen to this piece.
